Heavy, ever so heavily
my digits drag across the keyboard
witless, mindless minions
without a purpose of their own
Yet it is a chore
of gargantuan effort to move them
Heavy, ever so weighty
my lids, over their windows bear
Stay up won't you?
my commanding thoughts to them
but heavy still they fall
and I'm powerless
Slowly, ever so slowly
my syrupy thoughts
trudge through my brain
I will, I will, I won't;
Even those I have no authority over
I give in. Sleep :)
